For Mother and Baby – What Do You Give? A Gift Basket of course!
by: Donna Hamer
The choice for a baby or an infant gift can be a difficult one. One of the best baby or infant gifts that you can give is a gift basket. A gift basket is that one present that comes in many shapes, themes and of course price ranges. A gift basket is lovely gift to for a baby shower.
The diversity of gift baskets is never-ending. For a baby or newborn you can give a diaper gift basket or a baby necessities gift basket. If you’d prefer there is a baby bath time basket or an everlasting baby time capsule basket. In fact the list is endless.
Here is a simple basket that you can easily create yourself:
For the Gift Basket use a Baby Bath or try a Bucket. Then fill it with the following;
A ton of baby product coupons;
A Rubber Duck;
Bottles of lotion and baby oil;
Small toy books for baby;
Teething ring;
A few bottles;
2 pacifiers;
A few sturdy bibs;
A few sleepers;
A receiving blanket;
To add a little extra you could put together for mom:
Lotions;
Bath salts;
Pretty soaps;
Candles;
A few books;
Coupon holder with coupons in it. (Moms love these! ; )
Or try a small basket of:
Baby oil;
Baby bath wash;
A washcloth;
A rubber Duck;
Baby powder;
and baby lotion.
For Mom a picture frame, a disposable camera to record the event, a record book, photo album, along with a voucher for photo finishing.
When you are finished, wrap the Gift Basket with cellophane paper and a nice ribbon to give it a finishing touch. Tie a gift tag with a message for that added touch and include a pair of booties.

Make Your Own Professional Gift Baskets
by: Donna Hamer
Ever given your family or friends a beautiful gift basket? Gift baskets are such a wonderful gift and can be given for any occasion. However, if you are like me you don’t have a clue where to start, let alone how to put one together….. and the thought of creating a gift basket is the last thing on your mind? Then read on….
Let me tell you how easy it is to make an amazingly beautiful gift basket like a professional. Even you won’t believe you’ve made it!
To begin lets start with your “basket”. When you hear gift basket the first thing that pops into your mind is a typical wicker basket. Well things have changed; you can use anything as your “gift basket”. Once you decide who you are creating this gift basket for then decide on the type of basket which would be appropriate for that person. For instance if it is a teenager try a makeup bag or a plastic bucket for a gardener or a beach bucket for a child, try a laundry basket, a small plastic container or even a pretty purse, depending on the occasion and who it’s for (you are only limited by your imagination for the type of “basket” you choose).
Next, find your fillers. The fillers don’t have to be expensive but ensure that they match the type of gift basket you are creating. Make sure that what you buy will fit inside your basket. The secret to the presentation of your gift baskets are to make sure it looks like it is overflowing. The type of fillers you use will depend upon the theme of your basket and again, who you are creating it for.
Now for the fun part – decorating! Start arranging your items into the basket. Make sure to put the bigger, taller or larger items to the back and the smaller items in the front. You can use shredded paper or any other “stuffing” to prop things up or fill in the holes if you need to. I like to cover the basket in cellophane and then type of personalized card.
Finished ……. how easy was that!

Gift Baskets Online A Booming Market
by: Domenic Teoli
Back in the old days on holidays when the Internet didn't exist, my mom would sit by the table with her empty wicker baskets that she bought at a local gift shop and would fill them up with gourmet foods, fruits , wine bottles ,and all sorts of edible goodies & toys .
I would stand next her while she would wrap those gift baskets like a kid opening up a present ,
and every time she would finish a gift basket her eyes would glitter and then she would say " Learn from mommy and one day you'll do the same " ( lol )
It Was Fun ! and above all worth it !
In those days making gift baskets was in , because buying them was not worth it , first of all , they were hard to find and second , the prices were ridiculously expensive .
Mind you ,today its still a great and fun way to give gifts , but since the Internet has arrived , gift basket sales online have boomed , its the gift of choice ONLINE because people have axis to 100s of different kinds of online gift baskets from 100s of online gift basket stores
Prices are inexpensive due to the competition , and ordering them is so convenient , with a click of a button you can send a gift basket in no time .
The online gift basket industry is increasing dramatically every year , and making them I guess is on a decline unless your are selling them .
But there's one thing that will never ever change about " The gift basket " Is whether you make them or buy gift baskets online ,they will always remain the ultimate holiday gift .

Theme Gift Baskets
by: Gary Johnson
For most everyone, gift-giving can be quite a daunting experience. We would like to find that one perfect gift, but what do you get for that hard-to-buy-for person or special occasion?
Gift Baskets are so versatile that they can be used for any occasion and are sure to please everyone on your list.
Making gift baskets is an excellent way to provide personalized gifts for friends and family. They can be fun to make and receive.
Deciding the theme of the basket is typically the hard part. It's easiest to focus on hobbies and favorite interests, although food can also be the focus of the basket.
Are you looking for a gift for a gardener, a new car owner, a college student, baby or new Mother? Gift baskets are an answer to your gift-giving prayers.
What kinds of items should you included in a gift basket? The sky's the limit, along with your budget. To provide a smile to a gardener's face, include gloves, tools, seed packets, terra cotta pots or hat.
You might even include a coffee mug decorated with flowers and herbal tea to enjoy after working in the garden. You can put the items for this gift in a garden basket or even in a big straw hat.
Getting a new car is an exciting event, especially for the first-time buyer. Help them celebrate the purchase with a gift of air freshener, car wash, chamois, tire cleaner and an ice scraper? Add a visor organizer and a silly item like a pair of fuzzy dice or a Squirrel tail for their antenna, put it all in a wash bucket and your new car owner is set for the road.
Sending a friend or family member off to college? Put together a "care package" gift basket. You can include a box of homemade cookies, a mug, hot chocolate mix and microwave popcorn and other snacks for those late-night study sessions. A framed family picture, compact disc and a phone card will help ease any signs of homesickness. Throw in a roll of quarters for laundry and put it all in a laundry basket.
As you are able to see, ideas for creating gift baskets are virtually unlimited.
When you have chosen all the gifts for your basket, it's time for the assembly. Select a container which will hold your gifts. The container itself doesn't have to be expensive but, should fit the theme of the gift, if possible.
If you cannot think of a special container, a laundry basket would serve a dual purpose. Some other items you will need for the basket are packing paper, shredded colored paper, floral picks or even greenery, 24"-30" clear cellophane, and curling ribbon.
You want the gifts in the basket to be visible, so you'll need to fill the bottom of the basket with wadded packing paper. Push the paper firmly in place, leaving the top forth of the basket exposed.
Add shredded paper to the top of the basket. Shredded paper is available in many colors and styles at virtually all craft stores, however if you have access to a paper shredder you can make your own.
Place the taller items in back, forming a "wall". Lean the medium-sized items against this wall, and place smaller gifts along the front rim of the basket. You can add floral picks or greenery to fill in any empty spaces, to enhance the overall look of the basket.
Wrap the basket with cellophane. Gather the cellophane on the front and back of the basket, overlapping the sides towards the back.
Use a piece of ribbon to tie the cellophane securely. Tape the sides of the cellophane down. To finish the basket add a couple more lengths of ribbon, curling the ends, and attach a card.

What Are Gift Baskets?
by: Larry Flynn
Where Did the Basket Originate?
Since the beginning of mankind, man has woven grasses, straw, twigs and branches to create baskets. Early uses for the basket were to store dry goods and to transport food and materials. In biblical times, larger baskets were used for transporting people and goods on the water. Always a useful, sturdy container, it was a tool of man for tens of thousands of years.
The First American Gift Baskets
When the Mayflower landed on the shores of America, the European settlers were greeted with the first gift baskets. Dried fish and meats, corn, beans and other vegetables were presented to the settlers, by the American Indians, to welcome their arrival. In the 1700 and 1800’s, individuals created baskets full of fruits, foods and candies for Christmas, Easter and other holidays. Today’s gift baskets are crafted to the individual recipients tastes for holidays, special occasions or “just because” gift giving. Fruits, foods and candies now share space in gift baskets with “useable” items for the baby, the bath, the kitchen or for play. The baskets or boxes themselves are designed to be creatively used as well by the recipient once they’ve enjoyed the contents of the gift basket.
